Managing Learning

As what I have seen during my teaching practice, classroom management is important for different reasons. First of all, it helps the teacher to get through the learning outcomes. When the classroom is managed, teacher can complete the whole lesson as what she planned for. For instance, when I had managed my classroom, I noticed that I could finish the lesson and have done with the entire learning objective for each class. Another point is teachers can optimise the learning. Classroom management helps in get the learning be better and in a good way for students to learn. To exemplified, students were learning better and they had a chance to ask me more when the classroom were managed.

Furthermore, routine is important during the class as well for different reasons. At first, routine helps to save time. This means when students had to line up and wait for me to say their names so they can go and choose the activity, it helped on saving time. Additionally, students can learn and achieve more. Routine helped students to knew what they were going to do and how. As an example, when students had a routine during class time, they knew exactly what they were going to do at the beginning of the class, how they were going to do the transition and what they were going to do before the class finish.

As a teacher, I had to make sure that my classroom is safe and effective for the students to learn better. There are different thing that I did to have these things done. First of all, having different resources and materials for the students to learn is important. In each lesson, students were given different resources for the activities they had. This helped students to learn using different kind of activities. In the same time, students were having different areas in the classroom affect well on students when learning and o one of these areas were water area. As an example, when I didn’t want to use this area during any of my lessons, I took the water off to make sure students will be safe and they will not use the water to play only. Secondly, ask students to line up and I call their names when they were going to do the activities. For example, during each lesson, students knew that they have to line up and they wait to hear their names so they can choose which activity they want to do first. Thirdly, during the mat area, students have to put their hands on their legs. The reason of doing that is if any of the students wanted to go to the toilet, he can walk without touching someone’s hand. If students were setting and their hands on the mat, they may be hurts because another student may walk to write something on the board.

In other hand, if I had a student who was hyperactive, I ask him to come and set next to me. This helped me lots and it was an effective thing to do when this student try to get other student’s attention and effect on their learning negatively. For example, I asked a student who were hyperactive to set next to me and help me with getting me things which were not beside me. This point got that student’s attention to what I’m saying.

Moreover, when I open up the song for the transition, one of my students who were a special need didn’t listen. When this happen, I ask him to clean up with other students which was an effective idea and he did what I asked for.

In addition, working in groups is an important thing to have during lessons. In each lesson I was taught, I gave students a group work to do even if this is during activity time, or for the tidying up. Collaboration in different things between students develops their social and emotional skill which helps student in both school time and their life as well.

On the mat, students knew that they have to put their hands on their lap. "One of the rules"
